Inácio F. Araújo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Administration and Sociology at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, University of São Paulo (ESALQ-USP). He is also a Research Associate at the University of São Paulo Regional and Urban Economics Lab (NEREUS) and an Associate Editor of Estudos Econômicos.
His research lies at the intersection of applied economics and regional science, with a particular focus on production networks, regional economic modeling, and the economic impacts of extreme events. His work contributes to policy formulation and evaluation across regional and national contexts.
Prior to joining ESALQ-USP, he was a Visiting Researcher at the Department of City and Regional Planning at Cornell University (2023–2024) and at the Regional Research Institute at West Virginia University (2017–2018). He has contributed to projects developed in partnership with the African Development Bank, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, and the World Resources Institute, among other organizations.
